Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is an estimated measurement of how well a device can receive signals from any wireless access point or Wi-Fi router. Essentially, RSSI tells you how strong your Wi-Fi signal is from your device.
RSSI is usually presented as a negative number (for example -30 dBm or -70 dBm – the closer the RSSI number is to 0, the stronger the signal. For example, -30 dBm is a very strong signal, whereas -70 dBm or below is a weak signal.
