Howard Jones has joined broadband challenger Hyperoptic as its Head of PR, as the company continues to build its leadership profile.
Howard joins from Vodafone UK, where he led the company’s Corporate, Consumer and Enterprise teams during the last two years. Prior to that, Howard was Head of Technology PR at BT Consumer, having previously been part of the EE PR team responsible for the launch and regional rollout of the first 4G network back in 2012.
Howard said: “Roles like this are once-in-a-career opportunities, with a chance to help shape a business at a crucial stage in its development. Hyperoptic is changing who can get connected, and defining how they should expect to be treated by their provider. We’ve played a fundamental role in shifting the UK to a full fibre future and the team hasn’t been afraid to challenge industry practices.
“As we grow, there is an exciting job to do, which will require us to build out our comms division and recruit like-minded partners ready to take on a brief that will shake up our market.”
Howard Jones will report into Charles Davies, MD of ISP at Hyperoptic. Charles adds: “Appointing a proven PR leader like Howard, aligned with his ambition to drive industry change through intelligent and consumer-centred comms, is going to be instrumental in enabling Hyperoptic to achieve its growth potential. For the last decade, we have been carefully perfecting our business model, while amassing more 5* Trustpilot reviews than Virgin, BT and Sky combined. Now we are ready to take our brand to the next stage and drive awareness that there is a better broadband business.”
Hyperoptic is the UK’s largest exclusively full fibre Internet Service Provider. Its full fibre network now extends to over 900,000 homes and businesses, across 64 UK towns and cities. The company is on track to pass two million homes by the end of 2023.
