Hyperoptic launches UK-first new Nokia Hyperhub router

Hyperoptic launches UK-first new Nokia Hyperhub router

October 12, 2020

4x4 MIMO WiFi antennas with automatic band steering and channel selection delivers best speed possible throughout the home

Hyperoptic, a leading UK full fibre broadband provider, has today announced all new customers on 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps will receive the new dual-band Nokia Hyperhub as standard.

Available for the first time in the UK, the Nokia HA-140W-B router is class-leading. As well as featuring 4x4 MIMO antennas on the 5GHz band, automatic band steering means it will detect newer 5GHz capable devices to ensure customers receive the best speed possible wherever they are in the home. It also automatically adjusts to the best WiFi channel to avoid interference.

Ethernet connectivity is available on four Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports, all of which can transfer a full gigabit of data dynamically. It also supports traditional phone services via one POTS port with an integrated analogue telephone adapter.

The Nokia Hyperhub will be included free of charge for new customers on the Hyperoptic 12-month or monthly rolling 500Mb or 1Gb packages, as well as all new business customers.

Charles Davies, MD ISP, Hyperopic: “Too many broadband providers neglect to provide their customers with the cutting-edge equipment which really makes a difference to their connectivity experience. Modern homes and offices now have so many devices, and intelligently managing the connection to them over the right channel and band is key. Bringing the new Nokia Hyperhub to UK customers for the first time is further demonstration of our commitment to going beyond the expected to ensure our customers receive the very best experience possible.”

Cormac Whelan, CEO for Nokia UK&I: "As a strategic partner to Hyperoptic, Nokia is very pleased to support the launch of this new product, which will provide Hyperoptic’s customers with a best in class device for home connectivity."

Additional benefits include:

  • Home Network entry point with gateway capabilities
  • Use the same Home Gateway in combination with different access technologies (PON, xDSL, 5G mobile)
  • PHY rate up to 70Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 600Mbps for 5 GHz (with 1024 QAM capable clients)
  • Mesh topology and intelligent mesh routing
  • Embedded range boost technology helps to significantly extend absolute range
  • Ease of setup and user intuitive information
