Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds next to get Gigabit fibre broadband

Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds next to get Gigabit fibre broadband

May 28, 2014

Hyperoptic today reveals that it's going north for its next round ‘hyper-cities.' Residents and businesses in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds will soon be enjoying the UK's fastest broadband speeds, which enables hyperfast downloads and uploads, regardless of the time of day or the number of devices connected.   In addition to being the fastest, Hyperoptic utilises fibre all the way to the building, to allow its customers to future-proof their online life.

As the UK's leading fibre-to-the-home provider, Hyperoptic is changing the face of broadband in Britain today. Whereas the majority of ‘fibre' providers claim broadband speeds ‘up to' 76Mbps, the fibre actually stops at the cabinet, leaving residents to guess what bandwidth they might actually receive and when.  The connection into the house is still delivered over outdated telephone copper cables, which is why customers experience undependable performance, peak-time slowdowns and barriers to fully utilising their connections.

Hyperoptic installs its full-fibre broadband directly into a property development, which enables lightening-fast symmetrical gigabit (1,000Mbps) broadband speeds – an eye-watering 5,500% faster than the current UK average speed 17.8Mbps. The company has already launched its market-changing gigabit broadband in London, Cardiff, Reading and Bristol.

Hyperoptic focuses on bringing its services to developments of flats based on demand; once enough residents have registered their interest, the company arranges the installation, working with the building owners/ managers.

Dana Tobak, Managing Director, Hyperoptic: "We are committed to providing UK consumers, left lagging in the slow-lane, with a real broadband alternative that is the best in the market today in both terms of speed and online experience.  You get what you pay for.  Anytime.  All the time.  Full Stop.

"We are building the consumers-choice broadband company, a trusted utility that our customers can and do depend upon."
