What broadband packages does Hyperoptic offer?

Is broadband the same as Wi-Fi?

No, broadband and Wi-Fi are different. Broadband is the internet service provided by your internet service provider (ISP). Wi-Fi is a wireless way to connect to your broadband. It’s one of several ways to link your devices to your router, alongside wired options like LAN or Ethernet connections.

How is Hyperoptic broadband installed?

Once your building has been connected to our full fibre optic cabling (bringing the speed of the telephone exchange all the way to where you live, and avoiding the use of old and slow copper cabling) then it’s quick and easy to get your broadband installed.

Once they arrive, it takes less than an hour for one of our engineers to install a socket or internal fibre converter, connect your router and ensure your service is up and running smoothly.

Can I move my broadband when I move address?

If you’re happy with your current broadband provider and have a great deal, you might want to transfer your service to your new address. Simply check if your provider offers coverage there and, if they do, most will allow you to move your connection.

Bear in mind that there might be a small fee for transferring your broadband, or you may need to start a new contract. Have a look at what Hyperoptic offers before you do, as in most cases we can offer more value for your money with higher broadband speeds, greater reliability, and better customer service.

What is broadband and why do I need it?

A broadband connection is much faster way to connect to the internet than the traditional “dial-up” option. It also frees up your telephone cable so you can make landline calls at the same time. More modern broadband, such as Hyperoptic’s, uses fibre optic cabling to deliver even faster and more reliable speeds, which offer the same speed for uploads as well as downloads.

What broadband speeds do I need?

Every year, the need for higher broadband speed grows. More people at home stream more movies at the same time. We shared bigger files at work. Games becoming more demanding.

That’s why even our entry level Fast broadband starts at 50Mb (for uploads too). But once you try our Superfast (150Mb), Ultrafast (500Mb) or Hyperfast (1Gb) speeds, you won’t want to go back!
